We have very little knowledge on David Gatti, other than he created the original Doubleday cover for Magician which was released in 1982, the same cover also adorns most of the SFBC editions.
I (admin), spoke with David on the phone back in 1999, it was a short, but pleasant conversation. We talked about the whereabouts of the original art used on Magician (Doubleday), and the unused artwork created for Silverthorn, a copy of which you can see in Original Art.
