Roldem has never been developed. The only think I know about it is, it's sort of a Finland or Canada, i.e. it's politics are very defined by the REALLY big neighbors it has. Roldem is almost 100% allied with the Kingdom, because they are really affraid of Kesh, but they use their independence to good advantage.
What I've decided about Roldem so far and have referred to in the books at various point.
1) very politically sharp people who depend on the Kingdom pirmarialy for their military defense.
2) often used as an intermediary in disputes between the Kingom and the eastern Kingdoms or Kesh.
3) very insular people. Marriage outside of Roldem stock is frowned upon unless it's to Kingdom or Keshian nobles, and they better be very nobel, i.e. dukes, princes, etc.
4) very formal court life, something along the lines of Catherine the Great. I see them as being more Eastern European in style and dress than western, i.e. Hungary or Poland at the height of their monarchies rather than France or England.
And that's about it, really. Just notes and images. So far there's no "there, there," to quote Gertrude Stein.
