I think for literary purposes I've cheated them farther. I always saw the x3,x5 as a "base" for starting off new characters, so if a human 1st level character was 18, a dwarf "kid" was 54 years old and an elf 90 years old. I also break down the "if they don't get killed, they die of old age at" level about 5-6 hundred years for dwarves. Elves I see going between that and maybe 1200 years for the Eldar. Apropos to nothing, there was once a statistician who maintained that if we prolonged life no one was going to get past 659, because by then an accident would take you out.
