I rewrite, but I have a binocular dysfunction (sort of like dyslexia) so there are typos I can't see. Additionally, sometimes when you rewrite scenes you lose continuity, and the copy editor is supposed to catch that and call your attention to it. It's not as good a process as it used to be, due to cost cutting by publishers.
