Edhel (Elven) Differences

From: Raymond E. Feist

Consider this: there's one race.  They've all chosen different paths.  The choice of that path is cultural, but so profound that it has prevented interbreeding.  Let's say each "edhel" has a component in their make up that must be turned "on" to allow breeding.  So, no pregnancy.

Anyway, the thesis is the moredhel seek to emulate the Valheru, while the eledhel reject the Valheru.

BTW, the manes "light elves" or "elves of light" is a mocking title bestoed upon them by the moredhel, just as "glamredhel" i.e. "The Mad Elves," is a name hung on them by the other two races.  Each group of elven-kind thinks of themselves as "the people" which is what "edhel" means in their tongue.

Best, R.E.F.
