Dragon colours and what they mean

From: Raymond E. Feist

I came across this in the Midkemian game system. Golden dragons had the ability to be shapeshifters. Steve had the notion that there's only one type of dragon, but every decade or so it crawls off to molt and get bigger and emerges in a different color, so you can tell how old a dragon is (more or less) by the color. I think blue dragons or some such are the "teenages," while golds are the "old timers." Up until they're gold, they're pretty stupid, and it's only after they've been around for a few hundred years they get human level intelligence. But once they've got it, they get real smart, really quickly.

Best, R.E.F.
