Why did you chose to keep Martin around

From: Raymond E. Feist
Date: 28 March 1996

I kept Martin around mostly to give him a graceful, peaceful ending.  He'll die in the place he loves most in the world, Elvandar, with the only friends he has left alive besides his family.  With the death of his wife
and his sons and daughters being grown and married, his only reason to leave Elvandar is to see his grandkids and great grandkids.

I did it mostly because it seemed fair to give him a peaceful happy last few years considering what I did to him in King's Buccaneer.

See, once in a while an author actually does try to be nice to a character. <g>
