Does R.E.F. have any favorite characters from his books?

There are some that are more fun to write, because they have better lines. I'd say that over the long haul, Jimmy the Hand (as opposed to the older, more subdued Lord James), Amos Trask, Kevin of Zun, Arutha, and Nakor are the most "fun." Major characters tend to be more work, as they have to deal with more of the shifts in story, mood, action, etc. while the secondary characters can stand around on the sidelines making smartass comments.

You don't like or dislike characters.  They serve a dramatic function.  Some of them are more fun to write than others, for a variety of reasons.  For me, it's usually because they amuse me.  Amos, Jimmy, Nakor, Varen, for example.

Best, R.E.F.
